The Swedish Transport Administration has decided to extend Smartroad Gotland, a one year extension including commercial operation of the electric airport bus during the summer of 2022, upgraded performance of the charging infrastructure and continued testing of the electric long-haul truck.
Various deployment methods and road constructions will be evaluated. VTI, The Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute, will perform endurance and stress tests to verify that the technology does not affect the road construction.
The project will end in the autumn of 2023.
